Last Friday, colleagues from across the business came together for Principle’s quarterly update – an opportunity to share progress, recognise achievements and look ahead to the remaining months of 2025.
The afternoon was opened by Doug Cooke – Principle’s Executive Chairman and Founder and Tom Lloyd – CEO, followed by presentations from the Board of Directors, Heads of Departments, and members of the One Principle team and Junior Board.

Guest speaker Steve Cornthwaite from MAPP at London Bridge City delivered an insightful session on the ripple effect and proxemics – how our moods, body language and non-verbal cues influence those around us and can impact their day – with live demonstrations bringing the topic to life. We also heard from Gareth and Scott, who are working with our IT team to strengthen digital systems and support, and from the team at Clearup Solutions Pest Control, who introduced their services and partnership approach.
Updates covered recent contract wins and retentions, health and safety performance, operational overviews and ongoing progress with our ESG strategy. Principle has reduced its carbon footprint by 46% in the past six months, driven by improvements to our fleet, travel efficiency, consumables and wider decarbonisation projects, including the use of Bio Hygiene products and more electric vehicles. Our social value contribution has also continued to grow.
The session also highlighted Principle’s recent award achievements and strong charity fundraising performance – with more than £12,000 raised to date. Employees were reminded of upcoming Giving Back Days, for which employees are given two volunteering days each year.
Thank you to everyone who joined us – in person and remotely – and a big thanks to our guest speakers for their thoughtful and engaging contributions.
