We’re delighted to announce that Principle has reached the final stages of the Cleaning Excellence Awards 2022, in the following three categories:

Cleaning & Hygiene Team of the Year: Principle Window and High-Level Cleaning

The pandemic was a time when Principle’s Window and High-Level Cleaning division could have furloughed staff and waited for the storm to pass. Instead they raised their profile. They were proactive in how they helped our clients and protected jobs and, as well as creating stability and a positive work environment in a difficult time, this astonishing attitude resulted in planted seeds for growth for when the pandemic ended and our clients being able to confidently return to clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environments.

Covid-19 Response Award: Principle Cleaning Services and Warner Bros. Discovery

Another of our teams whose efforts during the pandemic didn’t go unnoticed is Warner Bros. Discovery.

From the offset fast-track cleaning systems on each floor were introduced to ensure essential broadcasting staff were kept safe and could continue working to the highest standards, but it was during the summer of 2021 when the Principle team’s profile was really raised.

Warner Bros. Discovery was broadcasting the Tokyo Olympics; a 24-hour broadcast, so the Principle team were cleaning around the clock. “... the normally invisible workforce suddenly became visible and the critical workforce coming in to keep Discovery’s programmes on air came to appreciate and realise the importance of the team.” The team were commended for their incredible commitment, and for remaining happy and motivated despite whatever was thrown their way.

Cleaning Operative of the Year: Scheila Costa Moreira Braga

Since joining Principle two and a half years ago, Scheila has been instrumental in driving cleaning standards for our client, MYO/ Landsec and the landlord buildings at 69 and 55 Old Broad Street. She has ultimate responsibility for ensuring the team cleans to exceptionally high standards and she works hard; always leading by example. She loves to make everyone feel good about their work; always empowering her team to take ownership and pride in their work, and always extends a warm welcome to our service partners and customers.

A solution is always at the door” is Scheila’s motto. She faces challenges like no other, and always with an infectious and sunny disposition.

Congratulations to all finalists! We look forward to see you at the Cleaning Excellence Conference and Awards on 7th December.
