Following the success of our sustainability seminar at Barings in March this year, yesterday’s social value seminar had big shoes to fill. And it succeeded!
Thank you to all of our guest speakers who each spoke with such passion and really moved the audience.
Every topic was covered, starting with Sara Stewart – Associate Director, Barings – who spoke about the work they have been doing as a corporate in London towards improving their investment in the local community.
We then learnt how to calculate social value and practical ways to improve it and our guest speakers from a number of different enterprises and charities spoke about the work they do to support victims of domestic violence, to make good use of surplus food for those in need, to help the homeless, to reduce knife crime and to support ex-offenders back into the workplace.
