Well done to our team who took part in another super successful Groundwork ‘give back day’ on Wednesday (21st June) and got stuck in to help improve the Mobile Garden in Hackney Bridge Gardens.

As the name suggests it’s a mobile garden and non-dig growing space that’s designed to be easily transported and enhance multiple spaces on a short-term basis. It’s an invaluable environment for local residents, schools and community groups, with a weekly programme of supervised activities such as the ‘build your lunchbox afterschool food growing club’.

Alongside the great people of Groundwork our team was involved in the completion of a polytunnel, building raised beds from upcycled timber and filling raised beds with soil. Everyone had a great time and it was Principle’s pleasure to contribute towards a such worthy cause!

Thank you to everyone for doing such an amazing job and to Beatriz Parraga Salinas – Data Entry Executive who shared her thoughts on the experience with us: “

This was my first volunteering day with Principle and I really enjoyed it! I love nature anyway but it was a pleasure to do my bit and give to Mobile Garden. It was also a nice change to the working day and to be doing something different.

Although it was a very hot day, we were as prepared for it as we could be with sun cream, water and hats. It was a great opportunity to get to know colleagues around the business and I think we – Principle and Groundwork – did a great job yesterday!”
