Last month, the Principle team at Television Centre (TVC) carried out some incredible community work, truly going above and beyond to help the local community, outside of their working hours.

It began when Dawn Brown, from a community centre local to TVC, approached Principle regarding some help with cleaning the floors. The floors had not been properly cleaned in a really long time so they were in dire need but it was a much harder task than the team initially anticipated.

Clara Mantuani – Principle’s Assistant Account Manager at TVC – reached out to her team to see if anyone would be willing to volunteer their time for such a cause. Almost immediately members of the team; Joaquim Fonseca, Samantha Mantovan and David Barreto (photographed below) had stepped forward and Clara had a team ready to offer their services and time.

Upon arriving at the centre at 5pm, after their day shift at TVC, Joaquim, Samantha and David quickly realised this wasn’t a quick task but without giving it a second thought they got stuck in – mopping, buffing and polishing the floors – finishing at 10pm. There was more to do though so Joaquim put himself forward to return the next day to polish the floors, and even purchased some of the cleaning products himself. Determined to ensure this was a job completed to the highest standard, he spent a further 6 hours buffing and polishing the floor.

When speaking to the team they all agreed they would happily carry out a project like this again. and encourage colleagues around the business to take up similar projects and help those who need it.

Samantha Mantovan said: “It took a long time. We thought it may be quick and easy but we were very wrong! We thought to ourselves, why not do it, we love to help. When other members of our team found out about the work we had done they were envious they weren’t able to be involved so this is definitely something we will be doing again. I am so proud of us all.”

I would like to also thank Justin Waylen who really does look after us as a community and Sabrina Feitor who arranged this. And yourself, without your input and leadership we would not have had this done.”

Russell Southern – Account Director added: “The team at TVC have been doing some fantastic things in the past year and have set themselves some very ambitious targets for the next 12 months that I have no doubt they will achieve under the leadership of Sabrina and Clara.

They have all been very passionate about helping the local community and how they can support local charities. The recent clean of the community centre shows how much they are willing to give back and everyone at Principle is very proud of their achievements. “

Well done to you all! We are extremely proud and grateful to have such caring and talented team members representing the company and using their expertise to help the local community, in their free time!
